Ultrasound Technologist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join The University of Kansas Health System in Great Bend, KS. The successful candidate will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, providing clear instructions and maintaining professionalism and compassion.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and proper calibration.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members to interpret and communicate findings effectively.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
  • Follow infection control protocols and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, including weeknights, weekends, and holidays, as part of the department’s schedule.
  • Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and maintain required licensure and certifications.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program.
  • Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or eligible for ARDMS certification.
  • Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Current licensure or registration as required by state regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Work Schedule:
  • Full-time, primarily day shifts lasting 8 or 10 hours with varied start times.
  • Rotation of on-call duties including weeknights, weekends (7 AM – 10 PM), and holidays.

** Compensation and Benefits:**
  • Competitive hourly pay range of $27 to $35 based on experience.

Additional Information:
  • Immediate start preferred.
  • This is a full-time, direct hire position dedicated to providing exceptional diagnostic imaging services.
