Join Our Team as a Temp Registered Nurse (RN) - Educator / Operating Room (OR) (Days) in Pittsfield, MA

We are seeking an experienced RN Educator to play a pivotal role in training and supporting staff within our Family Birthplace Unit, focusing on specialized operating room circulation for C-sections. In this role, you will leverage your extensive knowledge in labor & delivery and operating room circulation to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care during C-section procedures. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes and staff competency, making a meaningful difference in our community’s health.
Required Skills:
Proven proficiency in labor & delivery (L&D) nursing and operating room circulation, specifically for C-sections
Strong clinical skills and in-depth understanding of OR procedures
Excellent educational and mentorship abilities
Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced clinical setting
Effective communication skills to coordinate with diverse healthcare teams
Current Massachusetts RN licensure and relevant certifications (ACLS, NRP, BLS)
Valid Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License required upfront
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience in an educator or trainer role within a hospital setting
Knowledge of Berkshire Health System protocols and policies
Experience working with patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
Additional certifications related to maternity or surgical nursing
Preferred Education and Experience:
Registered Nurse with a minimum of two years of clinical experience in labor & delivery or operating room settings
Previous experience in OR circulation, especially for cesarean sections, is highly preferred
Demonstrated ability to educate and mentor healthcare staff effectively
Other Requirements:
Must include proof of current ACLS, NRP, and BLS certifications with profile submission
Availability for interviews on at least two specific dates and times
Capable of working 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
Willingness to wear masks at all times during the assignment due to COVID-19 protocols
Recent COVID vaccination (dose date on or after 10/3/23) or approved exemption
No travel residency within 50 miles of the facility
Time off requests limited to a maximum of three days, confirmed prior to start
