We are seeking a highly skilled Surgery Oncology Nurse Practitioner specializing in Hepatobiliary/Pancreatic (HPB) surgery to provide expert inpatient and outpatient care at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the top-ranked cancer programs in the Twin Cities, supporting patients through their cancer journeys with compassionate and comprehensive care. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, coordinate pre- and post-operative care, and assist in the operating room, ensuring our patients receive the highest quality treatment.
Required Skills:
Valid Minnesota License (or eligible for licensure)
Proven experience in surgical oncology, specifically Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic cases
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostics skills
Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Excellent communication, organizational, and patient education skills
Proficiency in wound care, drain management, and clinical procedures
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with surgical procedure assistance in the OR
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Oncology or Surgery
Bilingual skills for diverse patient populations
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution
Minimum 2 years of experience in surgical or oncology nursing, preferably in a hospital setting
Other Requirements:
Availability to start ASAP, with MN licensure in place for quick onboarding
Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Willingness to handle some inpatient duties and assist during surgical procedures
Commitment to patient safety and quality care standards
