We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Surgeon to provide expert consultation, support inpatient and emergency department cases, and collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals. Required Skills:
Board Certification in General Surgery (or within 5 years of certification)
Active medical license in the state
Experience with inpatient and ED consults
Ability to work independently and efficiently during 24-hour in-house call shifts
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Nice to Have Skills:
Familiarity with hospitalist and ICU workflows
Prior experience in a primary stroke center
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Additional certifications in trauma or advanced procedures
Preferred Education and Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO)
Minimum of 2 years of trauma or general surgery experience in a hospital setting
Recent experience with outpatient and inpatient care coordination
Other Requirements:
Availability to cover scheduled 24-hour shifts starting February 6, 2026
Ability to handle up to 2-4 calls per shift, primarily phone consultations and ED support
Local candidates preferred for quicker onboarding and minimized travel
