Position: General Surgery Physician
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated General Surgeon to join our team on an alternating monthly schedule. This role offers a competitive and rewarding opportunity for surgeons committed to providing high-quality care in a dynamic clinical environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive general surgical services, including gastrointestinal (GI) coverage, with optional ERCP capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive general surgical care, including outpatient and inpatient procedures.
Cover designated on-call periods—month 1 involves 10 consecutive days of call encompassing two weekends and the weekdays in between; example schedule from 2-13-2026 to 2-23-2026.
In the subsequent month, provide extended weekend coverage, arriving on Thursday or Friday for overnight calls through Tuesday morning.
Offer specialized GI procedural coverage, including endoscopic interventions.
Ideally, perform ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) procedures when required.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all patient interactions and procedures.
Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, policies, and standards of care.
Qualifications:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery.
Valid medical license in the state of Texas.
Proven experience in general surgical procedures, with emphasis on GI interventions.
Skills in ERCP are preferred but not mandatory; training or certification in ERCP is advantageous.
Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Ability to adapt to varying on-call schedules and handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
