We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This vital role involves supporting acute care patients across a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses, including ICU, stroke, neurological conditions, dysphagia, respiratory challenges, and cognitive disorders. Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive speech therapy services to acute care patients based on physician orders.
Support patients with diverse medical conditions, including neurological and respiratory impairments.
Participate actively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain thorough documentation of patient progress and therapy plans.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, supporting a variety of diagnoses.
Current Georgia Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Strong communication, assessment, and patient management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies and FEES procedures.
Prior work with intensive care unit (ICU) patients.
Familiarity with hospital protocols and electronic health records.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience in acute care settings.
Certification as a CCC-SLP.
Other Requirements:
No local candidates within 50 miles.
Availability to work varied shifts from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a minimum of 2 weekends per 4-week period (preferably 4 weekends).
13-week assignment starting May 11, 2026.
Ability to support travel and licensure expenses as needed.
