Ultrasound / Sono Tech

What You Will Do:
  • Perform abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, and maternal-fetal ultrasound procedures.
  • Verify physician orders and ensure imaging accuracy.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment independently, adhering to established protocols.
  • Explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort and understanding.
  • Review images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
  • Assist in departmental operations, including equipment maintenance and inventory.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards and update knowledge on federal, state, and local laws.
  • Adapt communication and care to diverse patient populations, respecting their privacy and dignity.
  • Collaborate closely with radiologists and healthcare team members to facilitate effective patient diagnosis and care.

Hourly Rate: $61.10

Required Skills:
  • Completion of a CAHEA-approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography.
  • At least 2 years of sonographer experience.
  • Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) experience preferred.
  • ARDMS certification as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
  • Advanced certification in specialty areas as needed.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Proficiency with computers and medical imaging software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of abdominal anatomy, pathology, and ability to perform relevant ultrasound procedures.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
  • MFM experience highly desirable.

Other Requirements:
  • Must hold or be eligible for RVT certification within two years of hire.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work mid-shift 8-hour schedules (e.g., 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM).
  • Willingness to work in environments where exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious materials is possible.
  • Compliance with OSHA and infection control protocols.
