Key Skills and Qualifications:
Valid RN license in the appropriate state
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Surgical Intensive Care or cardiothoracic ICU setting
Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records system
Experience with PA catheters, balloon pumps, and continuous renal replacement therapy
Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and excellent patient advocacy skills
Ability to handle high-pressure situations with composure and professionalism
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Certification or equivalent
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience caring for post-operative CABG, valve surgeries, aortic dissections, and transplant patients
Familiarity with ECMO and other advanced life support modalities
Prior experience with ICU float shifts across multiple units
Additional certifications relevant to critical care
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree
At least 2 years of ICU experience, preferably in a cardiac, transplant, or surgical ICU setting
Epic electronic health record proficiency preferred
Other Requirements:
Willingness to work night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts (19:15 – 07:15)
Ability to respond to emergency situations, including potential assignment to an “Emergency Team”
Comfort with float requirements to other ICUs and SDUs
Flexibility to stay during emergency events as assigned
