Job Description
SICU Registered Nurse
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a SICU Registered Nurse and make a critical difference in patient care within our high-acuity Surgical Intensive Care Unit. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing advanced care to post-operative, transplant, and critically ill surgical patients. Your expertise will directly impact recovery and outcomes, and you'll be part of a compassionate team committed to excellence.
Required Skills:
Valid nursing license and current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
Epic electronic medical records experience
Proven experience caring for post-op CABG, valve replacements/reparations, aortic dissections, and other complex surgical cases
Knowledge and practical skills in managing PA catheters, balloon pumps, and continuous renal replacement therapy
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Flexibility to float to other ICUs and SDUs as needed
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with transplant recovery (liver, heart, lung, kidney, pancreas)
Prior anesthesia or cardiac ICU background
Additional certifications in advanced cardiac life support or specialty areas
Experience with emergency response protocols
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher
Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, specifically in a high-acuity setting
Prior experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps highly preferred
Other Requirements:
Willingness to support emergency team assignments and flexible scheduling
Night shift availability working 3x12-hour shifts (7:15 PM – 7:15 AM)
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing clinical situations
Travel and licensure reimbursements applicable where relevant
This position offers competitive hourly pay at $53.60, with weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits, paid sick time, and a robust referral bonus program.
