SICU Registered Nurse

Overview:
As an SICU Registered Nurse, you will be at the forefront of critical care, responsible for managing complex post-operative patients in a fast-paced Intensive Care Unit. Your role involves providing expert clinical care to surgical recovery patients, including transplant recipients and those requiring advanced therapies such as PA catheters and balloon pumps. Your expertise will ensure optimal recovery outcomes within a collaborative healthcare environment that values excellence and dedication.
Required Skills:
Proven experience with SICU patient management, including general post-op care for surgical recovery patients
Proficiency in caring for transplant patients (liver, heart, lung, kidney, pancreas)
Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
Familiarity with post-operative care for CVICU patients such as CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic dissections, IABP, PA catheter management
Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to work in high-pressure situations with attentiveness to detail
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience working with PA catheters and balloon pumps
Previous participation in emergency or float team assignments
Knowledge of multi-system critical care procedures and advanced cardiovascular support
Preferred Education and Experience:
Valid RN license in applicable state(s)
Minimum of 2 years ICU experience, specifically in SICU or CVICU settings
Certification in ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
Other Requirements:
Ability to work 3x12-hour Day shifts (06:45 - 19:15)
Willingness to participate in emergency response teams and stay at the facility as needed during emergent events
Valid certifications and licensure, with reimbursement for travel and related expenses when applicable
