Join Our Team as a Respiratory Therapist - RRT/CRT

As a Respiratory Therapist at VHS, you will provide exceptional patient care across multiple high-acuity departments and facilities, supporting diverse cases from high-risk deliveries to neonatal intensive care. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, delivering life-saving treatments and innovative respiratory solutions while expanding your clinical expertise.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience in respiratory therapy
Proficiency in attending high-risk deliveries and supporting NICU/PICU patients, including neonate intubation
Expertise in airway management, ventilator operation, ABG analysis, and non-invasive ventilation
Experience with code blue and rapid response scenarios
Ability to administer inhaled medications, including nitric oxide
Comfortable with using advanced equipment such as Servo U, Trilogy, Vapotherm, and NICU Oscillator
Valid Louisiana State Licensure and NBRC National Accreditation
BLS certification is mandatory; ACLS, PALS are preferred
Valid driver’s license for floating across multiple campuses
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with ECMO support
Familiarity with Meditech Expanse charting system
Additional certifications like ACLS and PALS are advantageous
Strong communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced environments
Preferred Education and Experience:
Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (highly preferred) or CRT
At least 2 years of recent experience with neonatal, pediatric, and adult critical care
Other Requirements:
Ability to float between four different campuses within a 20-25 minute driving distance
Willingness to work 36/48-hour rotating shifts, including every other weekend
Availability for call shifts (minimum 2 hours), with potential optional voluntary call opportunities
Must pass orientation covering all facilities within a 2-day period
Proper scrubs (Pewter color) and free parking provided
Compliance with all applicable state, federal, and local laws
Compensation:
Hourly Pay Rate: $70.35
