Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience; first-time travelers must meet the same experience criteria
Patient Care Areas: Medical Surgical/Telemetry, with opportunities to support post-op, sepsis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, PNA, and other complex cases
Pay & Benefits

What You’ll Do
Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a newly established Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit
Monitor patient vital signs and symptoms, respond to changes, and escalate as needed
Administer medications, including IV therapy, wound management, and pain control
Support patient care needs related to post-op, medical conditions, and complex diagnoses like CHF or COPD
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, PT, OT, ST, RT, and phlebotomy staff
Maintain thorough documentation in Meditech Expanse EMR system
Assist with unit float coverage as needed, supporting other Med/Surg areas within the hospital
Follow infection control and safety protocols, including proper badge and apparel usage
What You Need
Valid Louisiana RN license
2+ years of acute care RN experience
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
Strong wound management, patient assessment, and IV skills
Adaptability to hospital float policies and unit workflow
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

This is a 13-week shift at a modern, well-equipped hospital in Shreveport, LA, offering a supportive environment with educational opportunities and a strong clinical team. The unit is newly established with a focus on high-quality patient care, serving complex cases including post-op surgeries and medical conditions such as CHF, COPD, and infectious diseases. Travelers will receive comprehensive orientation, and support staff including charge nurses, HUC, and in-house specialists are available to ensure a smooth experience.
