What You’ll Do
Provide direct patient care for pediatric patients in the PICU, including monitoring and managing critically ill children
Titrate medications such as pressors, insulin, Heparin, and sedation agents
Perform procedures including IV insertion, CVL placement, wound care, and drains management
Collect blood samples and perform assessments using telemetry equipment
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including Intensivists, Respiratory Therapists, and hospitalists
Assist with patient education and support families during critical care situations
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and documentation protocols
What You Need
Active RN license in Louisiana or ability to license promptly
Minimum of 2 years PICU experience; cross-trained candidates preferred
Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS; NRP preferred
Strong skills in IV placement, telemetry, titration, and critical care procedures
Ability to pass EKG competency exam
Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR preferred
Flexibility to work 12-hour night shifts and rotate weekends and holidays

The unit features a 6-bed PICU with occasional coverage of NICU and adult ICU/Stepdown units for cross-trained staff.
