What You'll Do
Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric ICU patients with diagnoses including MS, DKA, Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, Post-Op spinal surgeries, Hips, neuro post-op, and more
Titrate medications such as pressors, insulin, Heparin, and sedation agents
Perform PIV insertions, CVL lines, wound care, drains, and wound vac management
Collect peripheral blood draws and assist with patient assessments
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team, including intensivists, hospitalists, and RTs, to deliver optimal patient outcomes
Document patient care accurately in Meditech Expanse EMR
Participate in unit orientation and support team members as needed
What You Need
Valid RN license in Louisiana
Minimum 2 years PICU experience; experience with cross-training to Adult ICU or Med/Tele a plus
BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required; NIHSS and NRP preferred
Strong skills in PIV, CVL, telemetry, wound care, and titration of critical medications
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
Flexibility to work 4 days one week and 3 days the next, including some holiday work and every other weekend
Ability to work in a fast-paced, family-oriented, traveler-friendly environment
