Hourly Pay Rate: $54.94

What You’ll Do
Provide expert nursing care to patients in a 12-bed PCU unit specializing in post-surgical and acute care cases
Monitor cardiac patients using telemetry and respond to changes promptly
Administer titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Levophed after proper approval
Support patient care activities including chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and peritoneal dialysis (preferred but not required)
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including RT, OT, PT, and hospitalists
Document patient care accurately using EMR (Meditech Expanse)
Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards
Participate in orientation and on-boarding, working with a dedicated team
What You Need
Required:
Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
Minimum of 2 years acute care experience in a hospital setting
BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
Ability to pass EKG competency exam and support telemetry monitoring
Preferred:
Experience with titratable drips (e.g., Cardene, Cardizem, Heparin)
Experience with chest tubes, traches, and dialysis procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
About the Assignment
This assignment is at a well-respected, traveler-friendly facility in Shreveport, LA, featuring a 12-bed PCU unit. The unit cares for post-surgical, stroke, CHF, and other critical condition patients, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3. The schedule includes a rotating night shift on a 5 on, 2 off cycle, with holiday coverage expected. Orientation includes hospital and unit-specific training, ensuring you are well-prepared for your role.
