What You’ll Do
Provide direct nursing care for patients with cardiac and medical conditions
Titrate cardiac, insulin, and vasopressor drips
Manage patient devices such as chest tubes, drains, and central lines
Monitor and respond to patient vital signs, lab results, and clinical changes
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy and support staff
Document patient care accurately in EMR (Meditech Expanse)
Support patient recovery from surgeries and acute events such as CVA, sepsis, respiratory failure
Maintain compliance with unit policies and safety standards
What You Need
Active RN license in Louisiana
Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or Stepdown experience
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Preferred: LVAD certification (for 2W unit)
Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and adaptability
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
Experience managing cardiac and medical patient populations
