Registered Nurse - PCU (Stepdown) in Shreveport, LA

Pay Package: $50.25/hour, paid weekly via direct deposit

What You’ll Do:
Provide high-quality care to Stepdown and MedSurg patients, including CVA/TIA, spinal surgeries, heart cath recovery, and critical conditions like AFIB/RVR, DKA, COPD, and more
Manage patients on cardiac monitors, including remote monitoring and strip printing
Administer titratable IV medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (with manager approval if experienced)
Support patient assessments, documentation, and care planning within Meditech Expanse EMR system
Support other units as needed, including float responsibilities
Maintain compliance with all hospital protocols and safety standards
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes RT, hospitalists, OT/PT/ST, and phlebotomy staff
What You Need:
Valid RN license in Louisiana or the ability to obtain one quickly
Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience; first-time travelers must meet this requirement
Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
Strong clinical skills in cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and patient assessment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
