What You’ll Do:
  • Provide high-quality care to Stepdown and MedSurg patients, including CVA/TIA, spinal surgeries, heart cath recovery, and critical conditions like AFIB/RVR, DKA, COPD, and more
  • Manage patients on cardiac monitors, including remote monitoring and strip printing
  • Administer titratable IV medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (with manager approval if experienced)
  • Support patient assessments, documentation, and care planning within Meditech Expanse EMR system
  • Support other units as needed, including float responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with all hospital protocols and safety standards
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes RT, hospitalists, OT/PT/ST, and phlebotomy staff

What You Need:
  • Valid RN license in Louisiana or the ability to obtain one quickly
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience; first-time travelers must meet this requirement
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
  • Strong clinical skills in cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and patient assessment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
