Experience: Minimum 2 years acute care RN experience; prior PCU experience preferred

What You’ll Do
Provide high-quality patient care to adult patients in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
Manage diverse conditions including AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, ARF, post-heart caths, stroke/TIA, spinal surgeries, and more
Monitor and titrate IV medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (with manager approval if experience is lacking)
Support the assessment and management of patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, lumbar drains, and dialysis
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including charge nurses, RT, hospitalists, and specialists
Document patient care accurately in Meditech Expanse EMR system
Follow unit protocols and safety procedures, including EKG competency passing prior to start
Assist with patient education and discharge planning
What You Need Required:
Valid RN license in Louisiana or state where employed
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
At least 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in a similar setting
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
Strong clinical skills in cardiac, stroke, and post-surgical patient care
Preferred:
Experience with titratable medications, chest tubes, tracheostomies, dialysis, and lumbar drains
Prior PCU experience in a hospital setting
Comfortable working night shift and rotating schedule
