Registered Nurse - PCU (12-Hour Nights) in Shreveport, LA

Required Licenses/Certifications: Active RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience; prior experience in PCU or similar units preferred
Pay & Benefits:
Pay Rate: $50.25 per hour

What You'll Do:
Provide direct patient care in a 24-bed PCU unit with a patient ratio of 1:3
Monitor and manage patients with conditions like AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, ARF, post-heart caths, stroke (CVA/TIA), spinal surgeries, and more
Administer titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, Levophed (manager approval may be required)
Support procedures like chest tube management, tracheostomy care, lumbar drains, and peritoneal dialysis (preferred but not required)
Assist with documentation using Meditech Expanse EMR system
Collaborate with charge nurses, resource nurses, RT, hospitalist, and other multidisciplinary team members
Support the unit during busy periods, ensuring patient safety and quality care
What You Need:
Active RN license in Louisiana or other state as applicable
Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Strong clinical skills in cardiac and neurological patient management
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival
Flexibility to work a 5/2 schedule, including every other weekend and holidays
