What You'll Do
  • Provide expert nursing care to patients in the progressive care unit
  • Manage and monitor patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, DKA, and post-procedure
  • Administer medications and IV therapies, including drips and arterial lines
  • Perform CVL management, Foley catheters, tube feedings, and blood glucose management
  • Respond to patient needs promptly and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
  • Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR
  • Support unit operations, including charting and patient safety protocols
  • Ensure compliance with clinical policies and safety standards

What You Need
  • Valid RN license in Louisiana
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
  • Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
  • Skills in managing arterial lines, IV placement, and medication drips
  • Ability to float between units such as Stroke and Medical-Surgical
  • Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and effective communication skills

About the Assignment

Join a progressive healthcare team providing exceptional patient care in a 12-bed unit specializing in complex medical conditions. The unit supports patient recovery with a collaborative team including hospitalists, RTs, PTs, STs, and resource nurses. Your expertise will contribute to patient outcomes in a fast-paced, supportive environment. The assignment includes orientation, weekend rotations, applicable holidays, and options for time off within policy limits.
