Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience in PCU (Medical-Surgical/Progressive Care Unit)

What You’ll Do
Provide high-quality patient care for complex cases, including CVA, TIA, and Covid-19 patients
Manage medications and IV drips such as Levophed, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin
Monitor and manage arterial lines, CVL placement and care, Foley caths, tube feedings via NGT or PEG, and blood glucose levels
Document patient care accurately in EMR (Meditech Expanse)
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, RT, OT, PT, and ST for comprehensive patient care
Respond to unit needs as a resource nurse and support float to stepdown and med-surg units when needed
Pass EKG competency exam as part of onboarding
Adhere to hospital protocols and maintain a professional environment at all times
What You Need
Required:
Active RN license in Louisiana or ability to obtain
2+ years of acute care RN experience in PCU or similar units
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Experience with CVL management, arterial lines, and drip titration (Levophed, Amiodarone, Insulin)
Ability to pass EKG competency exam
Preferred:
Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR system
Experience managing complex ICU-level patients in a PCU setting
