What You’ll Do
Provide direct bedside care to diverse patient populations including CVA, TIA, and COVID-19 cases
Manage complex IV therapies, including arterial lines, CVL placement/management, and medication drip titration (Levophed, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Insulin)
Monitor and assess patients using NIHSS criteria and other specialized skills
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, RT, OT, PT, and speech therapists
Ensure patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced PCU setting
Document care accurately in Meditech Expanse EMR system
Assist with patient transfers, line management, and ongoing assessments
What You Need
Active RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Proficiency with PICC/midline placement, tube feedings, arterial lines, and drip titration
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, medication management, and care planning
Ability to adapt to floating across units, including stepdown and Medsurg
