Registered Nurse - PCU

Required Skills:
Minimum of 2 years of current RN experience in acute care settings.
Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification.
Ability to manage titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (manager approval needed if lacking).
Proficiency in chest tube management, tracheostomy care, peritoneal dialysis, and lumbar CSF drains preferred.
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to assignment.
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within patient ratios of 1:3 (RN) and 1:7 (CNA).
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR system.
Knowledge of IV pumps (Alaris), medication dispensing via Pyxis.
Background in Stroke care, CVA/TIA management, or surgical units such as spinal surgery.
Experience supporting unit resources, including phlebotomy, RT, and therapy teams.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Registered Nurse licensed in good standing.
At least two years of recent acute care experience specifically in PCU, MedSurg, or Stroke units.
Prior travel nurse experience is a plus but not required; first-time travelers must meet the 2-year RN experience in acute care.
Other Requirements:
Ability to pass a comprehensive EKG competency test.
Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including every other weekend, nights, and holidays (will work approximately 2/3 holidays per year).
Schedule includes 4-day and 3-day workweeks, with mandatory night shifts on a 5/2 schedule.
Up to 7 days of time-off can be requested, with extension considerations for longer requests. Limited to one weekend of paid time off per 13-week contract.
Uniform includes pewter scrubs, gray, black, or white T-shirts with WK monogram, and gray or black jackets. ID badges worn above the waist at all times.

Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Pay Rate: $50.25
