Overview:
As a Registered Nurse - PCU, you will be a critical member of the healthcare team, managing acutely ill patients with complex conditions such as strokes, respiratory failure, sepsis, cardiac events, and post-surgical care. You will utilize your clinical expertise to provide high-quality bedside care, coordinate interdisciplinary teams, and ensure patient safety and comfort. This position offers an exciting chance to work in a Certified Stroke Center and Chest-Pain Accredited facility, with a focus on advanced clinical skills and patient recovery.

Required Skills:
  • Valid RN license in good standing.
  • 1-2 years of recent experience in Acute Care or Telemetry settings.
  • Proficiency in titrating cardiac drips, vasopressors, and managing IV infusions.
  • Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to assignment.
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with patient ratios of 1:3-4.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience managing complex cardiac patients, including central lines, chest tubes, and tracheostomies.
  • Familiarity with Meditech Expanse EMR and hospital equipment such as Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication systems.
  • Additional certifications such as Wound Care or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in acute care settings, including telemetry or PCU.
  • Prior experience working in a hospital with a diverse patient population.

Other Requirements:
  • Must have current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
  • Ability to pass an EKG competency exam.
  • Flexible schedule supporting a 4-day/3-day workweek with weekend rotation every other week.
  • Able to work 2 major holidays per year.
  • Available for a 13-week assignment starting March 23, 2026.
  • No on-call responsibilities; will work scheduled shifts with no night shifts.
  • Must be separated from previous employment for at least one year if transitioning from a permanent staff role.
  • Validivariations and additional reimbursements applicable, including licensure, certifications, travel, and other expenses as appropriate.
