Job Title: Registered Nurse – Renal/Neuro Telemetry

Position Overview:
Join The University of Kansas Health System as a dedicated Registered Nurse in the Renal/Neuro Telemetry unit at our Olathe campus. This full-time position offers an opportunity to deliver exceptional patient care within a collaborative and technologically advanced environment. The RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services to adult patients with diverse medical conditions, including stroke, TIA, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and chronic diseases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to adult patients across the Neuro and Renal specialties.
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry data to promptly identify patient deterioration.
  • Administer medications and treatments following established protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about health management and treatment options.
  • Document patient care accurately within electronic health records.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control practices.

Shift Details:
  • Full-time, scheduled from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
  • Every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required
  • No on-call obligations, but holidays are required

Qualifications:
  • Current Kansas Registered Nurse License (KS RN)
  • ACLS certification is required
  • BSN preferred; ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within five years will be considered
  • Minimum of 1 year hospital nursing experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with diverse patient populations
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring and dialysis patient care is highly valued
  • Proficiency with infusion pumps, Stryker/Umano beds, GE Telemetry, and Masimo Roots with Patient Safety Net is advantageous

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly pay ranging from $33 to $40, based on experience and qualifications
