Overview:
Join The University of Kansas Health System in Great Bend as a dedicated Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide comprehensive prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum care within a collaborative healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert nursing care to obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.
Monitor fetal well-being using advanced fetal heart monitoring techniques.
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, ensuring patient safety.
Educate patients and their families on labor, postpartum care, and newborn care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments and interventions.
Respond effectively to emergencies and assist in managing obstetric complications.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited nursing school (New Graduates are encouraged to apply).
Current nursing license in Kansas (KSC).
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within the first two weeks of employment.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within six months.
Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification within one year of employment.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.
Previous obstetric nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive hourly pay rate from $30 to $36.50 based on experience and qualifications.
Shift differentials include $2.30 for evening hours (1500-2300) and $3.75 for overnight hours (2300-0700).
Weekend differential of $3.00 from Friday 7:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM.
