What You’ll Do
Provide critical care nursing for ICU patients with complex diagnoses including STEMI, respiratory distress, sepsis, stroke, DKA, and post-surgical patients
Manage ventilated patients, EVD drains, central lines, and arterial lines
Administer medications and perform procedures per protocol
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including RT, hospitalists, and charge nurses
Maintain EMR documentation using Meditech Expanse
Float to other units such as Med/Surg as needed, with ratios of 1:5-6 in Med/Surg and 1:2 in ICU
Follow hospital policies on PPE, patient ratios, and holiday/work schedule commitments
What You Need
Required:
Active RN license in Louisiana or appropriate state
BLS, ACLS, NIH certification
At least 1 year of recent ICU experience (2 years for first-time travelers)
Ability to pass EKG competency exam (includes MedSurg RN skills)
Comfort working in high-acuity environments and managing complex patients
Preferred:
Experience with arterial lines, NIHSS, chest tubes
Flexibility to float and work a 12-hour night shift
Strong communication skills and team collaboration
