Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse - Telemetry and Make a Difference in Patient Care
Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse seeking an exciting opportunity in a dynamic hospital setting? We are looking for compassionate and skilled Telemetry Nurses to join our team. This role offers a chance to work in a brand-new Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit, providing critical support for a diverse patient population. What You’ll Do:
Provide expert nursing care to patients with conditions such as sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, PNA, as well as post-operative cases including total joint surgeries and abdominal procedures.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including charge nurses, HUC/secretary, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, RT, hospitalists, and therapy services.
Utilize EMR systems like Meditech Expanse to chart and document patient care efficiently.
Float across various Med/Surg units as needed, maintaining flexibility and professionalism.
Comply with unit protocols, pass EKG competency exams, and deliver wound management, hemodialysis catheter care, PCA, and pain management effectively.
Required Skills:
A minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in an acute care setting.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
NIHSS certification.
Proficiency in wound management, vascular access care, and pain management.
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam.
Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with complex wound care devices such as wound vacs, JP drains, and wound management.
Previous telemetry experience with a solid understanding of cardiac rhythms.
Flexibility in floating across different units.
Knowledge of Meditech Expanse EMR system.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Registered Nurse with active licensure.
At least 2 years of inpatient RN experience, particularly in a telemetry or medical-surgical environment.
Prior travel nursing experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
Other Requirements:
Must be separated for at least one year if previously employed as a permanent staff RN.
Certification in NIHSS preferred.
Ability to work a 4-day or 3-day schedule, including every other weekend and 2-3 holidays in a year.
No on-call duties required.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced setting with frequent unit floating.
