Registered Nurse - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience in acute care settings
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications; NIHSS preferred
  • Proficiency in PIV insertion, CVL, telemetry monitoring, wound care, and management of drains and wound vacs
  • Ability to titrate pressors, insulin, heparin, sedation agents, and pain medication drips
  • Competency in passing an EKG exam prior to start
  • Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility to float to comparable pediatric units, and adult units (if experienced)
  • Ability to support a 1:2 nurse-patient ratio

Nice to Have Skills:
  • NRP certification
  • Prior experience with Meditech Expanse EMR
  • Cross-training to adult ICU or Stepdown units
  • Experience with titrating multiple infusion medications
  • Phlebotomy skills for peripheral blood collection

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing
  • At least 2 years of PICU clinical experience
  • Previous travel experience considered highly favorable
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric and adult critical care protocols

Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to work a 4-day week one week and 3-day week the next, including every other weekend and 2-3 holidays per year
  • Mandatory orientation followed by two shifts on the unit
  • Flexibility for up to 7 days of time off per contract with supervisor approval
  • Ability to float to NICU and occasionally to adult ICU or stepdown units (if qualified)
  • T-shirt uniform: gray, white, or black with WK monogram; jackets must be gray or black
  • Badge visible at all times
  • Free parking available

This opportunity begins on November 17, 2025, and offers an hourly pay rate of $56.95.
