Registered Nurse - PCU

Required Skills:
Valid RN license in the state of practice
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Proven ability to titrate cardiac and vasopressor drips, manage insulin infusions, and handle complex IV lines and chest tubes
Proficiency in central line management, wound care, and ventilator support (Bipap)
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to starting
Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and patient monitoring skills
Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR system
Prior experience in acute care, telemetry, or cardiac settings
Ability to float to other units such as Cardiac Stepdown or Medsurg
Additional certifications such as PALS or CCRN
Preferred Education and Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of recent acute care RN experience
First-time travelers are eligible if they have at least 2 years of permanent RN experience in acute care
Candidates must be separated from previous travel assignments for at least one year if previously employed as a permanent staff RN
Other Requirements:
Valid certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
Ability to successfully pass the EKG competency exam
Willingness to work mandatory weekend rotations and major holidays (2/3)
Ability to work 4 days one week and 3 days the next, with up to 7 days of paid time off (RTO) requests considered
No on-call duties; team-based support with resources including charge nurses, resource nurses, RTs, and hospitalists
Comfortable floating to other units when needed with appropriate orientation
Scrub color: Pewter; free parking available
