We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Required Skills:
Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU RN experience in a hospital setting
Current California RN license or appropriate state licensure
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications valid and current
Proficiency in titrating cardiac drips, insulin, and vasopressors (Esmolol, Cardene, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, etc.)
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
Strong knowledge of cardiac management, central line care, chest tubes, tracheostomies, drains, and wound care
Excellent critical thinking and multitasking skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Nice to Have Skills:
LVAD certification (preferred for 2W Cardiac Stepdown)
Experience managing venous sheaths and temporary pacemakers
Additional certifications in advanced cardiac life support or specialized skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
2+ years of acute care RN experience, including cardiac care
Prior experience working with diverse patient populations in a fast-paced setting
Other Requirements:
Ability to work 4-day and 3-day schedules (including weekends) and work every other weekend
Flexibility to work on holidays, with potential work on 2/3 major holidays
Willingness to float to other units, including Medical Stepdown and MedSurg, as needed
Valid in-house phlebotomy and RT certifications a plus
Scrub color: Pewter, with appropriate attire (gray, white, or black shirts; gray or black jackets)
Must wear badges above the waist at all times
