Registered Nurse - PCU
Join Our Dynamic Healthcare Team as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity in a fast-paced hospital environment? We are looking for passionate, skilled professionals to provide exceptional patient care in our 24-bed PCU. This pivotal role offers the chance to work with diverse patient populations, from stroke and cardiac patients to surgical recoveries, in a supportive and collaborative setting.
Required Skills:
Valid RN license with at least 2 years of recent acute care experience
BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
Proficiency in titratable GTTs such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, Levophed (manager approval required if lacking)
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to assignment
Strong critical thinking, communication, and multitasking skills
Capable of managing patient ratios of 1:3 (RN) and 1:7 (CNA)
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR system
Knowledge of IV pumps (Alaris) and Pyxis medication dispensing
Familiarity with float assignments across stroke and med-surg units
Ability to support multidisciplinary team members (RT, hospitalist, OT, PT, ST)
Preferred Education and Experience:
State-licensed RN with a minimum of 2 years in an acute care setting
Prior hospital experience in PCU, telemetry, or cardiac units
Other Requirements:
Willingness to work a 5/2 schedule, including every other weekend and holiday shifts
Ability to work night shifts in accordance with schedule rotations
Flexibility to request up to 7 days off with appropriate extensions
Professional attire including gray, white, or black scrubs with WK monogram; badges worn visibly above the waist
Parking is free in designated areas
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Rate: $50.25
