Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Hourly Rate: $50.25

As part of our team, you'll provide exceptional patient care for diverse cases, including cardiac, stroke, and post-surgical patients, utilizing cutting-edge equipment and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive treatment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in an acute care setting, specifically in med-surg or PCU.
Valid RN licensure in the state of employment.
Current certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale.
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start.
Proficiency in managing titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (manager approval required for offering without this experience).
Skilled in chest tube management, tracheostomy care, peritoneal dialysis, and lumbar drains (preferred).
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to adapt to unit support roles including charge nurse responsibilities and support staff functions.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with EMR systems, specifically Meditech Expanse.
Familiarity with IV Pumps (Alaris), Pyxis medication dispensing, and telemetry monitoring.
Knowledge of support services including RT, hospitalist, OT, PT, and ST.
Previous experience working in stroke or cardiac units.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree preferred.
At least two years of experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment.
Travel nursing experience is advantageous; first-time travelers must have a minimum of 2 years of permanent staff RN experience in acute care and be separated for at least 1 year if previously employed as perm staff.
Other Requirements:
Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale.
Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Flexibility to work a 4-day or 3-day schedule weekly, with mandatory night shifts in a 5/2 schedule pattern.
Willingness to work every other weekend and two holidays per 13-week contract.

Uniform attire includes pewter scrubs, gray/white/black T-shirts with WK monogram, and gray or black jackets.
Must wear badges visibly above the waist at all times.
