Registered Nurse - PCU
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. As a key member of our unit, you will manage complex patient cases, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and utilize your clinical skills to ensure positive health outcomes.
Required Skills:
Valid RN license with current state licensure
Minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience in acute care settings
Proficiency in managing titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (manager approval required if experience is lacking)
Ability to perform chest tube management, tracheostomy care, Peritoneal Dialysis, and lumbar CSF drains (preferred)
Successful passing of EKG competency exam prior to deployment
BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR system
Familiarity with IV pumps (Alaris) and Pyxis medication dispensing
Knowledge of stroke care protocols, including TPA administration
Prior experience in Stroke or Medical Surgical units
Support roles such as charge nurse or resource nurse
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree
2+ years of RN experience in acute hospital care
Prior travel nurse experience preferred but not mandatory
Other Requirements:
First-time travelers must have at least 2 years of permanent staff RN experience in acute care; previously employed travelers should be separated for at least one year
Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
Ability to work 4-day or 3-day workweeks with rotational schedules
Flexibility to work holidays, with approximately 2/3 required
Valid and current certifications; TB testing and background checks as required
Must wear designated scrub colors (Pewter) and adhere to dress code policies
