Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Ideal candidates are compassionate, detail-oriented, and possess the clinical acumen necessary for managing complex medical cases, including respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, diabetic ketoacidosis, and post-procedure care. Your skills will contribute to patient stabilization and recovery in a setting that demands both technical proficiency and critical thinking.
Required Skills:
Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
Proficiency in managing complex interventions such as CVLs, Foley catheters, tube feedings, arterial lines, and drip titrations (Levophed, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Insulin)
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
Strong patient assessment and prioritization skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR system
Knowledge of PICC/midline placement and phlebotomy
Experience working with neurological, cardiovascular, or respiratory patient populations
Ability to float across related units such as Stroke or Med/Surg
Preferred Education and Experience:
Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
At least 2 years of professional experience in acute care settings
Prior travel nursing experience is a plus, but first-time travelers require a minimum of 2 years of permanent staff RN experience
Other Requirements:
Must be separated from previous travel assignments for at least 1 year if previously employed as a permanent staff RN
Candidates should be adaptable to unit floating, including to stroke and med-surg units
Ability to work scheduled rotations, including every other weekend, with occasional holiday shifts
Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance and adhering to uniform policies (pewter scrubs, gray/white/black T-shirts, gray/black jackets, badges visible above the waist)
No cell phone or earbuds in patient care areas; strict adherence to professionalism is mandatory
Willingness to work scheduled hours, including potential on-call duties is not required for this position
Hourly Pay Rate: $50.25
