What You’ll Do
Provide expert care for pre-term babies and Level 3 surgical NICU patients
Monitor patient acuity with bedside telemetry
Maintain patient safety with nurse-to-baby ratios of 1:2 or 1:4
Collaborate with charge nurses, RTs, PT/OT, CRNAs, and Nurse Practitioners
Follow Meditech Expanse EMR system for charting and medication management
Participate in unit orientation and ongoing patient care activities
Support weekend rotations and on-call responsibilities twice per month
What You Need
Required:
Active Louisiana RN license
BLS, NRP, NIHSS certifications
Level 3 NICU or higher experience
Preferred:
Previous experience in pediatric or neonatal intensive care units
Strong teamwork and communication skills
About the Assignment
Join a supportive environment with a team of 12-15 nurses providing critical care for neonatal patients. The unit features advanced telemetry, IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and a focus on patient safety and family-centered care. Orientation includes hospital-wide training and two days on the unit.
