Duration: Contract assignment
Shift: 4 days per week, 10- or 12-hour shifts (mandatory weekend rotation)
Hours/week: Approximately 36-40
Employment Type: Contract/Travel
Licenses/Certifications: Active RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS (NRP preferred)
Experience: Minimum 2 years PICU experience; cross-training in Adult ICU or Med/Tele highly preferred
Pay & Benefits
Hourly Pay Rate: $53.60 per hour

Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements
Provide high-quality nursing care for PICU patients with diverse critical conditions, including MS, DKA, Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, and Neuro cases
Titrate medications such as pressors, insulin, heparin, and sedation agents
Perform advanced procedures like PIV, CVL insertions, and wound care
Monitor telemetry and use Alaris infusion pumps
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including hospitalists, intensivists, RTs, and resources nurses
Support patient and family education regarding treatment plans and procedures
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and proper documentation using Meditech EMR
What You Need
Required:
Active RN license in Louisiana
Minimum 2 years PICU experience
BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
Proficiency with telemetry, wound care, titration of critical medications
Comfort with cross-training for float to Adult ICU/Med-tele during assignments
Preferred:
Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR
Additional certifications such as NRP
Previous experience in pediatric critical care units
