What You’ll Do
Provide high-acuity PCU/Stepdown nursing care with a focus on patient monitoring and intervention readiness
Manage patients on common PCU therapies, including titration of cardiac/insulin/vasopressor drips
Support care for stepdown populations, including post-procedure and medically complex cases (e.g., post CABG, PCI, TAVR, respiratory failure, sepsis, CVA, etc.)
Perform and maintain safe bedside procedures and device management (e.g., central line management, drains/tubes, chest tubes/trachs as applicable)
Perform and assist with cardiology-related support tasks as needed (e.g., TR Bands, temporary pacing management, venous sheath management—per unit needs)
Deliver patient-centered documentation using the facility EMR workflow
Coordinate with the care team (CNA support, RT coverage, on-call hospitalist, charge/resourcing support as scheduled)

2+ years PCU RN experience
Ability to PASS an EKG competency exam prior to arrival (per compliance requirements)
Preferred
LVAD certification (2 West only, if applicable)
About the Assignment
This PCU/Stepdown assignment supports adult patients across cardiac and medical stepdown areas, with 24–25 beds depending on unit assignment and typical staffing ratios of 1:3–4. During orientation, you will be assigned to a home unit on one of the stepdown units; Cardiac Stepdown experience is important for placement (if not cardiac-experienced, you may be considered for medical stepdown based on qualifications).
