What You’ll Do
Provide nursing care in a progressive care setting for patients with complex medical needs.
Monitor and manage patients requiring titratable IV infusions (as applicable to unit workflow).
Deliver assessment, medication administration, and ongoing evaluation of treatment effectiveness.
Support stroke unit overflow and patients requiring time-sensitive therapies (as applicable to unit protocols).
Coordinate care with charge nurse, in-house support teams, and interdisciplinary partners to maintain safe staffing and continuity.
Maintain documentation using the facility’s EMR system and ensure compliance with clinical standards.
Participate in required onboarding and unit orientation (including unit-specific competency expectations).
What You Need Required
RN license
BLS, ACLS, NIH
2 years of acute care RN experience
Ability to meet assignment compliance requirements (including passing an EKG competency exam prior to arrival)
Preferred
Experience with specialty monitoring/critical care adjuncts, including titratable gtts and advanced procedures (experience requirements may be reviewed during credentialing).
About the Assignment This PCU assignment is a high-acuity unit with 24 beds caring for patients with complex cardiovascular and respiratory conditions, including overflow stroke cases requiring TPA administration when applicable, and post-cardiac cath and spinal surgery populations. You’ll work within a structured team environment with in-house support resources and centralized monitoring to help deliver consistent, safe patient care.
