What You’ll Do
Provide bedside nursing care for telemetry and medical-surgical patients
Manage patients with conditions including sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, and pneumonia
Care for post-op overflow patients as needed (e.g., total joints and select GI/abdominal surgeries)
Monitor and assess patients, respond to changes in condition, and coordinate next steps with the care team
Perform wound care and manage devices such as JP drains and wound vacs
Support specialized patient care needs including hemodialysis catheter care/fistulas and pain management (including PCA)
Complete required competency/testing steps as part of onboarding compliance
What You Need
Required
2 years acute care RN experience
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival (includes Med/Surg RN experience)
Preferred
Experience in medical-surgical and/or telemetry settings
Comfort with the specialty care skills listed above (wound management, JP drains/wound vacs, hemodialysis catheter care, fistulas, PCA/pain management)
About the Assignment
You’ll be joining a brand new Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit at a growing facility with educational opportunities for travelers. The unit serves a mix of telemetry-focused medical conditions and post-op overflow needs, with support from in-house clinical teams and hospital-based services.
Scheduling highlights (from the job order): 3/2 schedule, every other weekend, and 2/3 holidays. Work patterns include 4 days one week and 3 days the next week (mandatory).
