What You’ll Do:
As a Travel RN in the Operating Room, you will deliver comprehensive surgical nursing care in a fast-paced setting. You're responsible for preparing patients for surgery, assisting in procedures, monitoring patient vital signs, administering medications, and ensuring a sterile environment. Your expertise will support surgical teams, enhance patient safety, and uphold the highest standards of care. Flexibility to float between PMC and main campus locations ensures seamless and versatile clinical support, contributing to the success of our surgical operations.
Required Skills:
Valid RN license in New Mexico or a Compact State
BLS Certification via AHA
ACLS Certification via AHA
Minimum of 1 year of OR or surgical nursing experience
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Comfortable with long shifts (4x10 hour days) and staying late when necessary to complete procedures
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with outpatient or outpatient surgery centers
Previous travel or float experience in hospital settings
Knowledge of advanced surgical protocols and technologies
Bilingual skills to support diverse patient populations
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
At least 1 year of recent OR or surgical nursing experience in a similar setting
Previous travel nursing experience is a plus
Other Requirements:
Willingness to float between PMC and main campus locations as needed
No weekend or on-call requirements, but volunteer opportunities are available
Start date: May 18, 2026
