Float Pool Critical RN – Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool for critical care at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting a variety of clinical needs across departments.

Position Details:
  • Hourly Pay Rate: $46.90
  • Shift: Night (7:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
  • Every other weekend, 2 major and 2 minor holidays required
  • Start Date: 01/06/2025

Job Description:

The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality, safe, patient-centered care. You will perform assessments, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes using evidence-based practices. Your role involves coordinating care for diverse patient populations with sensitivity to cultural differences and working closely with patients and their families to ensure personalized care.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Perform the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provide relationship-based patient-centered care tailored to individual needs and cultural backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and team members through effective communication and shared decision-making.
  • Ensure high standards of clinical practice in accordance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and the ANA Code of Ethics.
  • Promote teamwork through interdisciplinary communication and documentation, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research activities, and shared governance.
  • Serve as a preceptor or mentor to support ongoing professional development and strengthen the nursing workforce.
  • Advocate for evidence-based practice, research utilization, and quality improvement.
  • Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum, developing protocols in collaboration with care teams to enhance outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Valid RN license for the state (or multi-state compact license).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications such as ACLS, NIHSS required (or as specified).
  • Less than 1 year of clinical experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, responding to emergencies with professionalism and composure.
  • Proficiency with healthcare technology and clinical documentation.
