We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med Surg team on a full-time basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Position Overview:
The Charge RN provides clinical leadership and oversight for the medical-surgical unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care. This role combines hands-on nursing with team supervision, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement. The Charge RN will coordinate daily operations, mentor staff, and act as a key resource for complex clinical situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise nursing staff to uphold high standards of patient care, safety, and compliance with organizational policies.
Oversee daily unit operations, including patient assignments, staffing schedules, and resource management.
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor, guiding staff in care planning and problem-solving.
Conduct performance appraisals and staff development initiatives to promote growth and competency.
Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and quality improvement protocols.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans and optimize patient outcomes.
Facilitate effective communication among staff, patients, and families to ensure satisfaction and understanding.
Monitor patient care metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement quality initiatives.
Manage staffing needs proactively, balancing patient acuity and staff availability.
Address clinical and operational issues promptly, escalating when necessary.
Lead unit meetings, fostering teamwork, accountability, and open dialogue.
Participate in budget management and resource allocation planning.
Promote a culture of ongoing professional development and education for nursing staff.
Demonstrated clinical expertise in medical-surgical nursing.
Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
