Job Description:

Education Required:
Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
Certifications Required:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Current unrestricted license in the state of practice
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekends, holidays, on-call) and travel throughout and between facilities
Job Duties:
Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy
Use radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
Operate imaging equipment independently according to protocol (may include placement of NG tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, and contrast administration)
Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure quality meets diagnostic standards
Perform timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and perform notification/remediation if warranted
Assist in departmental operations such as managing inventory, staff scheduling, and equipment maintenance
Adapt behavior to specific patient populations with respect for privacy and effective communication
Perform additional duties as required
Physical and Environmental Demands:
Heavy Work: exerting 50-100 pounds occasionally, 25-50 pounds frequently, and 10-20 pounds constantly to move objects
Must be able to work in patient care areas, directly with patients, and handle specimens that may contain infectious diseases
Exposure risk to blood, body fluids, tissue, hazardous medications, or waste in a healthcare environment
