Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) - Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center

Overview:
As a PICU RN, you will deliver exceptional, evidence-based nursing care in a specialized 6-bed unit renowned as the only community-based PICU in the region. Your expertise will support critically ill children through advanced treatment techniques, modern technology, and collaborative teamwork. This role offers an engaging, fast-paced environment where your critical thinking and clinical skills directly impact patient outcomes. Working night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team focused on providing the highest standard of pediatric intensive care.
Required Skills:
Valid RN license (Single State RN or RN-COMPACT)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with BLS-I preferred
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, with PALS-I or PALS-P advantageous
Minimum of 2 years PICU experience required
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Excellent time management and critical thinking abilities
Proficient in technology and electronic health records
Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience working with state-of-the-art PICU technology
Advanced certifications in pediatric or critical care nursing
Experience in a community hospital setting
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Valid licensure to practice in the state, with multistate compact licensure preferred
Less than 1 year of direct patient care experience, or completion of accredited nursing program with requisite clinical hours
Other Requirements:
Night shift availability (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Willingness to obtain necessary certifications upon hire if not currently held
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to maintaining compliance with all licensing, certification, and hospital policies
