What You Need to Succeed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Valid RN license in the applicable state
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, or Trauma care
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing computers, software, and electronic health records
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management capabilities
Ability to effectively delegate and lead interdisciplinary teams
Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and standards of nursing practice
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Certification in a clinical specialty area (e.g., Orthopedic nursing, Neuro nursing, Trauma certification)
Additional certifications related to patient safety or specialized care
Education and Experience Preferences:
Educational background: Registered nurse diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
Clinical experience: At least 2 years in Med/Surg, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, or Trauma units
Other Requirements:
Ability to work a 12-hour shift on a 24/7 schedule
Physical ability to exert substantial force, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly
Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to healthcare practices
Willingness to participate in ongoing education and quality improvement initiatives
