Join our team as a Polysomnographic Technician and make a meaningful difference in patients' sleep health. What you'll do:
Conduct overnight sleep studies for patients with various sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and parasomnias.
Prepare and fit positive airway pressure devices, such as CPAP and BiPAP.
Monitor and document sleep data, including body position, movements, oxygen saturation, respiratory, and heart rates.
Ensure proper placement and troubleshooting of electrodes, bands, thermistors, and monitoring probes.
Provide basic patient care, assist with ambulation, and address patient questions regarding the testing process.
Maintain compliance with facility and safety protocols, working independently as needed.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 1 year experience in sleep technology; previous travel experience preferred.
Certification in BLS, RPSGT, or RRT-SDS and LA state licensure.
Knowledge of sleep testing procedures, therapeutic respiratory interventions, and monitoring equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and be tech-savvy.
Comfort working with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
Strong communication skills and confident in patient interactions.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with EMR systems, specifically Meditech Expanse.
Familiarity with Alice Sleepware G3 and Nihon Kohden monitors.
Ability to work independently and adapt to different clinic environments.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT) or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential.
At least one year of sleep lab experience, with exposure to pediatric, adult, and challenging patient populations.
Other Requirements:
Valid LA state license and current CPR/BLS certification.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment independently.
Ability to work scheduled shifts, including alternating weekends; no holiday or on-call duties required.
Ability to float between clinics in Bossier and Pierremont as needed.
Professional attire includes gray, white, or black T-shirts with WK monogram, gray or black jackets, and badges worn visibly above the waist.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred, if applicable.
Compensation is competitive at $53.60 per hour, with weekly pay via direct deposit.
