Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, is actively looking for experienced Physicians to conduct Compensation & Pension examinations and Separation Health Assessments nationwide. In this role, you will perform interview-based evaluations and physical assessments to assist Veterans in securing benefits. Required Skills:
Valid medical license in good standing
Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine
Experience with compensation and pension exams preferred
Strong communication and interviewing skills
Ability to perform physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
Attention to detail and timely report submission
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience working in Veterans’ health administration
Familiarity with medical documentation and reporting standards
Certification in relevant specialties or additional training in disability evaluations
Preferred Education and Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO)
Active license to practice medicine
Proven experience in general medicine practice or disability evaluations
Willingness to work in Silver City, Deming, Hobbs, or Grants, NM with own office setup within a 50-mile radius
Other Requirements:
Own medical practice setup within the specified locations
Ability to dedicate two days per week in Silver City or Deming, one day in Hobbs, and half a day in Grants
Availability on a PRN basis, with potential for ongoing assignments
Compliance with all applicable licensure, certification, and travel reimbursements as outlined
This position offers competitive pay rates:
Half-day (up to 4 hours): $800 flat rate
Full-day (5 hours or more): $1,600 flat rate
One-time bonus of $650 after completing all training and initial exams
Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit
Comprehensive W-2 benefits, including paid sick leave and reimbursed licensure, certification, and travel expenses
