Neonatologist – Perm Opportunity at Atrium Health Navicent, Macon, GA

Atrium Health Navicent is seeking a highly qualified Neonatologist to join our esteemed team at the newly renovated Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital in Macon, Georgia. This is an exceptional opportunity to provide specialized neonatal care in a vibrant, state-of-the-art facility, serving as a vital perinatal and neonatal regional center for Georgia.

About the Facility:
  • Located at 888 Pine Street, Macon, GA 31201
  • Home to a 66-bed, Level-III NICU equipped with advanced technology including high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and brain cooling
  • The only dedicated pediatric hospital in central and south Georgia
  • Magnet-designated hospital recognized for nursing excellence
  • Part of a Level-I trauma center and designated regional perinatal/neonatal center in Georgia
  • Newly opened 50,000-square-foot neonatal intensive care unit (2019)

Position Details:
  • Full-time, permanent (Perm) role
  • 26 weeks per year schedule: one week on, one week off
  • Daily patient rounds with on-call responsibilities from home every other night
  • Collaborative practice with experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs) and readily available subspecialty support
  • Clinical appointment available with Mercer Medical School, enhancing professional growth and academic involvement

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive neonatal inpatient care for critically ill neonates
  • Oversee high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and brain cooling procedures
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and policy development
  • Engage in teaching and mentoring of residents and NNPs

Qualifications:
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology
  • Active Georgia medical license or eligible for licensure in Georgia
  • Strong clinical skills with a commitment to high-quality neonatal care
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
