Required Skills:
Valid medical license in the state of Virginia
Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Proven experience in inpatient obstetric care and labor management
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work independently and adapt to hospital protocols
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience as a hospitalist or in a locum capacity
Ability to perform emergency procedures and interventions
BLS and NRP certifications
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Preferred Education and Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
At least 2 years of post-residency clinical experience in obstetrics
Previous locum or temporary staffing experience is advantageous
Other Requirements:
Availability to start by December 30, 2025
Ability to work in North Chesapeake, VA with flexibility for coverage shifts
Active medical license and all relevant certifications
Willingness to comply with hospital policies and procedural standards
